The George Moore Memorial Hall Minute Books
A year or two ago four original Minute Books relating to the business of the George Moore Memorial Hall were handed over for safe-keeping to Mick Jane by Mr Alec Bell, Chairman of The George Moore Trust and now retired Headteacher of Fletchertown School. Mick Jane is a local amateur historian who is responsible for co-ordinating archive material for the Fletchertown Community Centre. He has made available to me his transcriptions of some of the minutes which, in my view, are themselves a most fascinating piece of social history giving a real insight into the moral stance, goals and aspirations of those closely involved in the initial provision and then the day to day running of this establishment. I have set out the minutes, as transcribed by Mick Jane, in chronological order. Click on the year to view the minutes.
