The London H.Q. of George Moore's firm was located at No. 5 Bow Church Yard but the Firm had other premises including a warehouse in Paris and a factory and warehouse in Nottingham in addition to factories in Glasgow and Manchester.

George Moore originally lived with his first wife at 17 Canterbury Villas Maida Hill but later Smiles tells us that he moved from a small house in Oxford Terrace to a Mansion House he had built in Kensington Palace Gardens.

George Moore undertook many charitable works in the capital as well as in his native Cumberland. He built at his own expense a Church and School in the deprived area of Somers Town.
