Whitehall in Cumberland by Mrs Agnes Jane Moore nee Breeks
George Moore purchased the Whitehall Estate as a summer residence for his first wife, Eliza but, sadly, she died in 1858 prior to the house restoration undertaken by Anthony Salvin. Three years later George Moore married his second wife, Agnes Jane Breeks who took a great interest in Whitehall. In 1865 she had a book printed for private circulation in which she wrote about the history of Whitehall and this included engravings which are attributed to her. Originals of her work are rare and expensive to acquire. I have a photocopy kindly provided by Carlisle Library.
