Old AllHAllows Church

This is the final resting place of George Moore, both of his wives and certain members of the Parkin-Moore family. George Moore's Mausoleum still stands and its roof has been recently renovated but much of the Church is demolished and in ruins. It is said that the vicar of New AllHallows Church (built by 1889) authorised the demolition of the chancel of the old church to encourage attendance at the new church because some of the local population preferred the old church. I understand that occasional open air services are still held at the old church.

Below are a number of old photographs and a sketch of the old church prior to its almost complete demolition.
